Label Jars With Chalkboard Paint

Since I came across Martha Stewards acrylic craft paint, I am a huge fan. There are countless possibilities (for example see this DIY screenprint project) for craft projects! Today, I would like to share the most recent project I´ve made using chalkboard paint

I´ve got a couple of giant jars to put flour in, but it is really hard to tell which flour is which, when you take them out of the original wrapper (wheat, rye, spelt, ?). So, I wanted an easy way to label those jars, but at the same time I wanted to be able to change the labels. Chalkboard paint - sounds genius!

I couldn´t find any painter´s tape around the house, so I used regular tape to mark the edges of labels. I let it dry for a couple of hours and re-painted the jars a second time. After that I let them dry over night.

Next day, I carefully removed the tape and that is almost it!!

Here is how the jars looked like.

The instructions I´ve followed called for completely chalking it over and clean before you start using them.

Here you go!

I did not use chalk markers but regular chalk which was maybe too tough on the paint or maybe I should have let it rest/dry longer before I started using them, but my chalk scratched away the paint at some parts. So, the result is not as pretty as it could be, but it still works of course.
