Kids Fabric Craft Party

For my daughter, her 4th birthday was the first one she really cared about. She had strong opinions about who to invite (and who not to invite), she requested a special cake (which was actually not a cake but a gingerbread house) and she was excited about picking a theme / activities for her party.

All that put me in the situation of not having full control, but after some negotiations and compromises I am very happy with what we came up with:

A Fabric Craft Party (without gingerbread house craft)

These were our invitations:

button tutu inviations
sewn paper envelopes with fleece patches

First fabric craft project: Super Hero Capes (from men´s t-shirt)

men´s t-shirts from thrift store
cut off the back of the shirt including the neck
decorate your cape as you please
so much creativity!

Second fabric craft project: No-sew tutu (see older post)

pre-cut tulle stripes
I like to wrap the elastic around a chair while working on the tutu
lots of litte ballerinas

Even if all the moms and dads had to lend a helping hand here and there, we had a blast and my daughter had the "best birthday party ever!"
Happy Birthday - my big little girl*
